Welcome to Food Service!

Welcome Back USD 417 Students, Parents, and Staff!!!

The Food Service team along with each school administration has been working this summer to create a safe space for breakfast and lunch.  We are confident in our meal choices so your child will get every opportunity to eat a yummy, nutritious, and healthy meal each day.  Although each school setting looks different this year please know we will do our very best uphold all health, food, and serving standards.

Breakfast will be served as a serve Grab n' Go style at each entering door as your child walks into their school.  Elementary School Breakfast starts at 7:30 while Council Grove Jr/Sr High School Breakfast Starts at 7:50.

Lunch is still an Offer program, with a choice between 2 hot meal choices.  Then a nice fruit/veggie bar full of all kinds of fresh fruit and fresh vegetables each day.

We will not be able to offer the uncrustable 3rd choice at Elementary schools this year, (they are in high demand everywhere)

Please be aware, your child will be charged either paid, reduced, or free for their lunch which is different from how we were charging after spring break of last year.  As always if your financial situation has changed or you would like to see if you would qualify please feel free to fill out a new free/red form at  (Click on Free/Reduced Lunch App)

Good nutrition and learning go hand in hand.

The Nutrition Services department is made up of a team of food and nutrition professionals that are dedicated to students' health, well being and their ability to learn. We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices.

Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. We provide students with access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students.
